Solid Wood Fitted Kitchens

Handmade Fitted Kitchens

At Rainbows Furniture Ltd we have been manufacturing solid wood fitted kitchens for many years. We continuously invest in new technologies and keep up-to-date with the latest techniques to ensure the best quality fitted kitchen possible. We only use solid wood to manufacture our kitchen carcasses, frames, doors and end panels, and can accommodate most budgets and timeframes. All of our solid wood fitted kitchen units are skillfully handmade in our workshop using only techniques that offer the strongest and most durable results. Our kitchens come with dovetail joints on the drawers, mortice and tenon joints on all the doors, and trenching with pocket screws in the entire carcass construction. All drawers are made from 18mm thick solid redwood pine and constructed using dovetail joints. The drawers are fitted on high quality under-mounted, soft closing runners as standard.

We use materials such as redwood Scandinavian pine as standard on our internal carccasses. Many customers choose to have this material finish in an oak effect stain with a coat of lacquer for added protection. This process accents the natural beauty of the wood grains and characteristics. We use either Radiata pine or tulipwood for all the external painted surfaces such as doors, drawer fronts, frames, end panels, plinths and cornice. More About Solid Wood Fitted Kitchens

Radiata pine is quite an unknown material but provides a low cost solid wood solution for painted surfaces. This material is knot-free, meaning that paint finishes will not become discoloured over time from sap-leaking knots, a common problem with standard pine. Tulipwood is a more expensive material but is often chosen by customers due to the wood being hardwood. Again, with no knots, this is a fantastic solid wood material to paint, offering optimum durability and finish. These materials can also be used to manufacture the solid wood carcasses should you prefer a painted internal finish.

All of our fitted kitchen units will arrive at your property fully assembled. All doors will be hung on brass or chrome flush hinges as standard. Concealed soft close kitchen hinges can be provided for a small additional charge. We supply solid wood worktops such as Oak, walnut, beech and Iroko. We recommend customers find a local supplier of stone, granite or quartz worktop, if this is preferred. Customers can choose any colour from any colour chart for their kitchen to be painted in. The majority of our kitchens are spray painted with 2 or 3 coats of the chosen colour and then finished with a high quality protective lacquer, offering additional protection. We can also hand paint your kitchen if this is your preferred finish.

All of our fitted kitchen units come with a 10 year guarantee, subject to usage and our terms and conditions. We have our own team of professional kitchen fitters dedicated to installing your new kitchen, should you require. Please note that no electrical, gas or plumbing works are included in our fitting service. We supply kitchens and furniture nationwide and delivery is included in our quotation price. Estimated lead times on solid wood kitchens are 6 to 12 weeks dependent on workloads.
