Founded in 2011 Rainbows Furniture has grown into a respected, family-run business renowned for creating bespoke solid wood furniture and kitchens for both private clients and trade customers, locally and nationwide.

Our Journey
2014
Ongoing expansion led to the recruitment of Tom’s brother to support the growing business.
2016
The business relocated from West Yorkshire to a larger premises in Gainsborough and expanded the team by employing Tom’s nephew.
2019
The business transitioned to a limited company, installed its own spray booth facility, and recruited an apprentice to the team.
2012
After 15 years of experience in the industry, Tom and Rachel established Rainbows Furniture, launching the business from their family garage.
2013
The business expanded quickly, leading Tom to bring his dad on board and move into a permanent workshop.
2022
The business relocated to a larger workshop in North Leverton and further expanded the team by recruiting two additional apprentices.
2024
All apprentices successfully completed their training.
2026
The business introduced a dedicated display showroom to further enhance its customer experience and showcase its product range.

Process
Creating furniture is a process defined by precision, care and craftsmanship.
We begin by discussing your vision in detail, providing a clear and transparent process before finalising every specification.
Made to Order with Traditonal methods
Each component is carefully cut, routed and edged with exacting accuracy. Drawers are traditionally crafted using dovetail joints, while frames and carcasses are assembled with concealed fixings to ensure both strength and a clean, elegant finish.
Finishing & Painting
Panels are primed, filled and sanded by hand before receiving multiple coats of high-quality lacquer for a durable, refined finish. We also offer hand-painted options, providing a subtle depth and character that only careful brushwork can achieve.
Installation
Our family team personally installs all our furniture, ensuring each cabinet is level, square and perfectly aligned. We work closely with trusted trades to coordinate the fitting of solid timber, granite or stone worktops, ensuring a seamless result.
This method ensures that each piece of furniture we craft is made to last, combining practicality, understated elegance and timeless design, all shaped by years of experience and careful attention to detail.
